Amusement arcades, FECs, adult gaming centres and route operations in Wales will suffer under a new short-term circuit-breaker lockdown in Wales.

The country, which like Scotland has its own parliament, devolved from the UK Government, is permitting only essential shops to open.

The lockdown will begin from 6pm on Friday and like other businesses, the amusement gaming industry will be looking to the Welsh Government for financial relief.

From October 23 to November 9, the entire population will have to stay at home, working from home wherever that is possible, although they are permitted some exercise. All non-essential retail, leisure and tourism will close. Only takeaway shops will remain open.

An economic resilience fund of £300m has been announced by the country’s First Minister Mark Drakeford and the industry understands that the small print in the rules will permit every retail, leisure and hospitality venue will get a one-off payment of up to £5,000, among other financial relief.
