Belgian VR games supplier VEX Solutions had unveiled a VR esports league for indoor entertainment centres.

The company notes that the trend for esports is expected to reach over $1bn in revenue in 2021. VEX is seeking to bring esports into location-based entertainment where it has always been difficult to implement and where VEX feels there is great potential.
“Since we operate our own VR arcade,” said Julien Henricot, CEO, “we directly saw the impact of creating contests with prizes during our initial tests. Customers came back more often and played more. With this update we want to share our automated league system with other operators.”
The company will run international contests on its two turnkey free-roaming flagship systems, the VEX Adventure and VEX Arena. Operators will also be able to create their own contests sponsored by local businesses that will drive interest and customers to their location.
Through the VEX online platform, every customer can edit their profile and monitor their progression remotely. Additionally, they will receive emails alerting them of any new information relating to their favourite location and operators are at the same time gathering data on their customers to improve marketing.
