Virtuix, the virtual reality attractions developer, has announced that industry veterans Lisa Chapman and Marisa Garris have joined its sales team as national sales manager and director of business development respectively.

Virtuix expands sales team

Together, Chapman and Garris bring more than 30 years of experience in the amusement industry to the company.

Most recently, both served as sales staff at Embed, the cashless solutions provider. Both will work alongside sales manager Sergio Garcia, who joined the company from Exit Reality earlier this year.

“Selling a VR attraction wasn’t on my radar,” said Garris. “But when I tried Virtuix’s Omni Arena I was taken by surprise. It was such a different experience and I realised this is the future of our industry. The attraction is a turnkey solution from start to finish and gives guests a reason to return.”

Chapman echoed this sentiment, saying she found herself “laughing like a little schoolgirl” when she tried the attraction for the first time.

Jan Goetgeluk, founder and CEO of Virtuix, said: “Given their wealth of knowledge and expertise in our industry, they can help our customers navigate the landscape of dozens of VR attractions and provide practical advice on how VR and esports can increase revenues at family entertainment centres.”

Goetgeluk decided to expand the sales team when it became apparent to him that “entertainment venues are rushing to add VR attractions at a dizzying pace” and that “it has become clear that VR isn’t just a fad.”

He added: “I’ve been watching this trend develop for six years and I’ve never seen the volume of calls and enquiries we are getting now. Three to four customer groups each week are visiting us in Austin, Texas, US, to see and experience Omni Arena.”
