FECs and arcades are traditionally found in built-up areas, where a large clientele is assured, but can a virtual reality arcade in a rural Irish village succeed? To find out Ian Donegan spoke to the owners of VR Gaming.

CAUSEWAY is a tiny village in the south-west corner of Ireland. Its buildings make up the essentials for rural Irish life: a church, a butcher’s, two grocery shops, four pubs and, as of the start of October, a virtual reality gaming arcade.

The latter may seem out of place in the village but the owners, Mike Bowler and Shane Legg, are confident that the venture will be a successful one.
