The AMOA trade show, which has just ended in Las Vegas, will be the last stand-alone event for a restructuring American coin machine trade.

AMOA has been the event for the trade association which looks after operators, whereas the suppliers had their own show Amusement Showcase International run by the manufacturers’ association, AAMA. The operators’ show was held in September, the suppliers show in March. But the recession has made worse the competition coming from the big parks event, IAAPA, which moves into Las Vegas this year in November.

IAAPA contains many coin-op products and an industry under financial pressure demanded a reduction from the three annual events.
Now the AMOA and the AAMA have agreed to jointly own the new trade event, which will be held in Las Vegas in March 2010, well away from competition with IAAPA.
