The purchase is set to close early next month and is subject to approval from the Georgia Lottery Corporation and other authorities.

It will increase Accel’s presence in the region and will add 11 Georgia coin-operated amusement machine Class B locations to its portfolio, including 65 Class B terminals. There are also operations in 110 amusement locations across the south-east of the US. Coming with the acquisition is a Georgia COAM Class B master licence.

Andy Rubenstein, CEO at Accel, said that the purchase ‘immediately provides us with access to an attractive market – an under-penetrated market with significant growth opportunity.’

He added: “Tom’s Amusement is a high integrity, well-run, highly respected company that shares many of the entrepreneurial attributes upon which Accel was built.”

Emily Dunn, owner and CEO at Tom’s Amusement, said: “Partnering with Accel we can more quickly accelerate our growth plans and leverage the many benefits that increased innovation and scale brings to our establishment owners and playing customers.”

Tom’s supplies and operates amusement equipment in bowling centres, sports bars, restaurants and skating rinks. It carries a comprehensive line of video games, pinballs, pool tables, air-hockey tables, ATMs, juke boxes, dart board, sticker an capsule machines and merchandise cranes.

Accel is an Illinois-based operator with interests in video gaming terminals, redemption games and other amusement devices in non-casino locations.
