Universal’s plan for a UK theme park at Bedford is to benefit from a promise of £500m in transport and infrastructure from the government, says the Financial Times.

The money includes around £270m in rail network improvements and another £200m on roads. Talks are continuing on the proposals between government officials and the operator.
Meanwhile, Universal has submitted plans for its proposals to the Ministry of Housing and has requested that the project is fast-tracked through a Special Development Order, which means that only the secretary of state has to give approval.
