Chinese manufacturer Universal Space Video Game (UNIS) has experienced a positive 12 months despite the worldwide recession, according to general manager Steven Tan.
Speaking at the EAG Expo last month, Tan told InterGame: "The economy in China is strong and we are fortunate to be one of the first Chinese manufacturers to focus in our local market, with our own products as well as licensed products through strong partnerships with Sega, Namco and Raw Thrills.
"Following the expansion of amusement centre licences in China, it has become a real growth area and manufacturers such as ourselves continue to invest in R&D and push product forward."
Commenting on the EAG Expo, Tan added: "A separate show for the amusement sector has been a smart move and was needed but the show itself will take years to establish itself properly and mature. However, this year’s show has taken that first step."
Universal Space exhibited on PMT Sales’ stand, showcasing new product geared towards FECs and younger children such as Ducky Splash and Cooking Mama.
