The first ever open-air, single-level golf-themed entertainment centre has been opened in August, Georgia, by Topgolf.

Topgolf

The company, with 60 locations across the US and internationally, provides golf-emphasis facilities with games, climate-controlled hitting bays and F&B including bars, event space and other facilities that entertain more than 20 million people annually.

The new Augusta venue goes live on Friday with 36 outdoor hitting bays fitted with the Toptracer technology to provide innovative games and offer simulated play at some of the world’s most famous courses such as Pebble Beach and St Andrews. There is also a nine-hold miniature golf course and a recreation area with backyard-style lawns with fire pits.

To comply with self-distancing rules, the bays will have dividers and booking will be made by a free online reservations system. Clubs and other equipment will be sanitised after use.

Similar structures are now being built at Chattanooga, Tennessee, and at Waco, Texas.
