The UK coin-op industry will continue to face difficult trading conditions as the British Beer and Pub Association confirms 52 pubs are closing each week.
Since the onset of the recession almost 2,500 pubs and bars have closed in the UK and the situation could well continue for some time thanks to a mixture of increased taxes, higher business rates and lower beer sales.
Pubs and bars form the main location for Category C machines in the UK, which were recently given a boost in stakes and prizes to £1/£70 in an attempt to invigorate the market.
