Nearly 500 trampoline park owners, operators and suppliers attended the annual show and conference of the International Association of Trampoline Parks, held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The conference revealed that the organisation is to implement a self-regulatory inspection programme to “provide patrons of trampoline parks a way to identify those parks dedicated to delivering an optimally safe experience.” The organisation said that such a move would also provide regulatory enforcement authorities an effective structure to which they may refer.
All US-based parks would have two years to complete their first inspection from renewal of their membership for the 2018-19 year and would need to be completed by IATP approved and independent third party inspectors by renewal 2020-21. All parks outside of the UK and Australia would have to be able to show that they had undergone a safety inspection to renew their membership.
