Topgolf Entertainment Group has found a fairway to heaven thanks to a new breed of visual communications technology.

Topgolf

The golf giant saw its operations significantly impacted throughout spring and early summer in the interest of public safety. Even before the pandemic struck, though, Topgolf had begun a digital transformation towards better support visual communications, customer engagement and streamlined operations.

Digital display technology is already a staple for many venues, but Topgolf took the solution several steps further, discovering along the way how automating its extensive display network could have multiple benefits.

The company’s recent partnership with technology integrator Diem Digital and controls systems developer Savi saw it deploy 10,000 automated display solutions at Topgolf venues.

The implementation of the LG displays and Savi Canvas solution not only enabled Topgolf to manage displays remotely, but also significantly reduced the failure rate and replacement labour overhead of previous consumer displays.

Craig Rathburn, senior enterprise account manager at LG Business Solutions USA, said: “When you get to know the Topgolf and LG business models, you understand that it is all about the customer experience. It’s thinking through how to bring better functionality, better user experience, more graphics, enhanced colours and all of that energy and excitement to the table.”

One specific benefit of this collaboration is that Topgolf is now able to introduce new virtual games Ball Flight Track and Jewel Jam, with its Toptracer ball flight tracing technology that appears in one of the three panes within the LG display.
