The way has been cleared for The Original Bowling Company’s proposed acquisition of fellow bowling centre operator Bowlplex, with the news that it is to sell six locations to Essenden, the owner of the Tenpin brand.
The move addresses concerns raised by the Competition and Markets Authority, which had previously announced it would review the deal. The CMA will now not refer TOBC’s acquisition to an investigation.
Selling the six locations resolves the competition concerns identified as the centres will be operated in competition with TOBC’s estate.
The six centres are in Bristol, Camberley, Cardiff, Dudley, Castleford and Glasgow.
