Softkinetic, one of the leading providers of 3D gesture recognition solutions for the interactive digital entertainment markets, has announced that Titan 4 Games has selected its iisu 3D gesture recognition software platform to develop next generation, gesture-based coin-operated systems.
Titan 4 Games, based in the US, designs, manufactures and markets gaming terminals for the coin-op amusement market.
"Softkinetic 3D gesture recognition technology allows us to bring to the market revolutionary products where players interact directly with the game, without the need of any controller or hand-held device," said Titan 4 Games president Milind Bharvirkar.
Using a 3D depth sensing camera, Softkinetic’s iisu middleware analyses the player’s movements, detects body parts and recognises specific gestures. It also provides a complete 3D avatar animation environment so that the player controls the gameplay experience directly through their gestures.
"The interactive digital entertainment market is a perfect candidate for leveraging the capabilities offered by 3D depth sensing cameras to offer players of all ages new experiences through intuitive and immersive gameplay," added Michel Tombroff, CEO, Softkinetic.
