Timezone has opened the doors of its new FEC in Dunedin, the second largest city on the south island of New Zealand.

The Timezone Dunedin celebrated with a grand opening party at the venue in the Golden Centre shopping area of the city.

It includes bumper cars in a Spin Zone, VR games, classic arcade games and ticket-collecting redemption games with a Winners’ Vault prize shop to exchange the Powertickets.

Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and Mario from Mario Brothers were at the opening to entertain the public and there was free face painting, giveaways and other surprises for the locals.

James Woodbridge, the New Zealand general manager for Timezone, said that the opening could not have come at a better time for the Dunedin folk, given the challenges of 2020.

“The new FEC will no doubt become a favourite among locals and visitors with a great range of games and attractions." he said. “We have also generated 14 jobs for the local community which is pleasing in a year where job security has been challenging for so many.”

Timezone is a TEEG (The Entertainment and Education Group) brand. The 1978-founded Timezone brand has over 200 FECs in the Asia-Pacific region, in seven countries. There are now 14 in New Zealand.
