The continuing crisis in the Italian arcades market over redemption games will again be a focus in a seminar to be held during the EAG show in London’s ExCeL in January.

Italian amusement and gaming publication Gioco News staged a successful debate on the problems for Italian arcades during the show early this year and now plans to repeat the exercise.

Alessio Crisantemi, director at Gioco News, said this week that crisis over ticket redemption’s ban in many regions of Italy continues and an update on the situation would be staged at the London show, on Wednesday, January 15.

The Italian trade associations, Euromat and other interested organisations have been invited to take part in the seminar, which will be chaired by InterGame’s David Snook once again.

Said Crisantemi: “The future of the entertainment sector is anything but fun in Italy and in some other countries. This is because of inadequate legislation, populist politicians and short-sighted vision. There is a crisis in the international industry and we need to discuss what we can do. A new warning went out from the EAG debate in 2019 from Italy to the rest of Europe to help save the ticket redemption sector.”

He said that Alessandro Lama, president of the Confesercenti Amusement would be a speaker at the seminar and other trade association representatives were being invited to take part.
