Featuring a 10-lane bowling alley, and more than 50 big-screen TVs, including a large video wall, it will also offer an arcade with retro video games, billiards, shuffleboard, air hockey and foosball.

“Tap is a celebration of beer and sports. It will be warm, open and inviting – a perfect place to meet, enjoy a game or people watch, all while enjoying great food and drinks,” said MGM Springfield vice president of Food and Beverage, Anthony Caratozzolo.

The venue will be housed within a 1907 YWCA building and is adorned with vintage sports memorabilia, historic gym lockers and old-world bottle displays. As homage to Springfield as the birthplace of basketball, Tap will feature a mini-basketball court with the first hoop – a peach basket – and hardwood flooring painted to reflect the original basketball key. MGM Springfield itself covers three blocks in the heart of the city. Occupying approximately 2,000,000 sq.ft, the development combines new construction with revived historic buildings and will offer more than 125,000 sq.ft of gaming space, a 250-room boutique hotel on main street, spa services, retail and dining. An eight-screen Regal luxury cinema complex, bowling lanes, and seasonal skating rink will also be available to visitors when the resort opens.
