Arcades, family entertainment centres and gambling locations in Sweden may suffer from the country’s proposed partial lockdown as the authorities hope to head off a third wave of Covid-19 infections.

All non-essential retail shops, gyms, restaurants and entertainment locations warned this week that it "may be necessary" to shut down parts of Swedish society as pandemic infections surge.

The Swedish Parliament has a week to decide whether to impose the lockdown or reject it. If it is decided to go ahead, the regulation will come into force from March 11.
