The sun shone on North London’s annual informal Open Day yesterday, when two of the UK’s largest distributors, Electrocoin and UDC, hosted the industry at their neighbouring headquarters in Park Avenue.

Each company had a raft of fresh product to demonstrate to operators who came from all over the UK and some from the cContinent to enjoy what has become a relaxed and enjoyable street party.

The two companies provided their usual BBC fare with an ice cream van on-site and there was even some serious demonstrations going on inside both showrooms.

Johnny Stergides said that his people were "most satisfied" with the turnout, the air of optimism among the operators and with the fresh products being shown inside the company.

“It has been a very good exercise with plenty of AGC operators and arcade owners from around the coasts, plus some of our friends from the continent have joined us today, notably from Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and the US.”

Next door, Mark Horwood said: “This year has been unusual in that we would normally have only one or two all-new games to put on show, but this year we have no fewer than eight!

"They are redemption pieces, mostly, from Coast to Coast, Elaut and of our own in-house design. Why eight this year? No reason; they just came to fruition at the same time.”
