Italian pinball players now have free access to a series of pinball machines in digital format thanks to the Stern Pinball Arcade platform.

Stern

Pinball enthusiasts are a passionate bunch but not all of them are lucky enough to have their own machines at home. Unlike many out-of-home games, they can be faithfully replicated digitally and, in these times of quarantine, the virtual versions can help with players’ enforced abstinence.

On March 10, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced the countrywide DPCM 9 decree fondly known as #Iorestoacasa (I'm staying at home) to mitigate the coronavirus. To support this IFPA Italia, the Italian International Flipper Pinball Association, with the support of Stern Pinball and Farsight Studios have made it possible for players to download and use the Stern Pinball Arcade application for free, which makes available a series of real pinball machines by Stern, in digital form.

To take advantage of the promotion, players must:

1. Download the Stern Pinball Arcade application from Steam, Google Play or the Apple App Store.

2. Create an in-game account or log in to an existing account by selecting login from the main menu.

3. Communicate to IFPA Italia the email that was used to create the account by writing to [email protected]

Once this is done, authorisation is granted to use the Stern pinball machines included in the Stern Pack 1 package.

The initiative is aimed at supporting pinball players at home, allowing them to practice in advance of the resumption of official competitions.
