The proposed Universal theme park in Bedford, UK, might generate as much as £50bn for the UK economy during its building and in the first 20 years of its operation, says a new analysis.

Universal Destinations & Experiences commissioned the research and concluded that £35bn of that figure would be generated as a net economic contribution with another £14bn coming from extra taxes.
There would be 20,000 jobs created at first and once operating it would result in 8,000 new jobs.
