Spree Interactive, provider of free-roam location-based VR experiences, has reported “unprecedented” results from its attraction during the grand reopening of Airtime Trampoline Park in Nuremberg, Germany, on September 20.

The reopening included the debut of a brand new, dedicated VR area in which the Spree platform is the anchor attraction. Its VR Arena allows up to 20 people at the same time to enjoy virtual reality experiences in an interactive group setting, making it one of the highest-throughput location-based VR systems on the market.

For Airtime, 40 per cent of its business is birthday parties and the addition of a platform like Spree’s has allowed it to offer a VR birthday package. “We are very happy to provide this brand new attraction from Spree Interactive to our customers,'' said Anne Busch, marketing lead at Airtime. “We were able to serve over 50 birthday parties in one day, with an average of over 10 participants per group. Spree is a highly profitable offering for us.”

The Airtime reopening also saw the general release of Extreme Anteater, the first VR game that was completely produced in-house by Spree. The title is a casual game designed to be accessible for most players and ideal for locations like trampoline parks.

“This is a great milestone for us, as we are designing content that not only entertains and amazes players, but it is also well suited to create great business opportunities for our partners,'' said Sarah Stief, VR content director at Spree Interactive.

Following a successful debut at the recent IAAPA Europe Expo in Paris, France, Spree plans to announce additional installations in collaboration with major operators.
