The region, which includes the major city of Malaga and the popular Costa del Sol, is modifying the existing regulations covering arcades. They include a requirement that there should be no less than 150m between each venue and the entrance to schools and places of education.

There must also be a minimum of 100m between each licensed venue.

The Andalusian Government is also limiting advertising and access controls are implemented to prevent minors and anyone with gambling addiction problems, from accessing gambling venues. Increased penalties for infringements include updated levels of fines.

The previous regulations covering arcades had been in place since 1986 and had been unchanged except for the introduction of sports betting into gambling halls in 2017.
