Last weekend saw the launch of Spanish manufacturer Franco’s Game Weekend promotion.

Spain’s creativity

Held at the campus of Madrid University, the weekend brought the AWP manufacturer together with Google to encourage entrepreneurs in Spain. More than 50 professional developers, marketing experts and visual artists joined together to offer 10 unique projects.

Franco is seeking “new digital business models” and at the same time supporting young talent within the entertainment industry. It began with a workshop on creativity with the focus on the users of games and applications. Following that, Miguel Angel Lázaro challenged the young people to create a prototype of a game with cash awards.

For the winner there was a €3,000 cash prize and a jury of experts awarded it to Taken, developed by David Burgos, Jorge Garcia, Pablo Arias and Alex Serrano. The jury was impressed by the theme that the team used, the Google Street View. Afterwards the winners met members of the Franco team for a tapas dinner.
