UK-based content provider Soundnet will promote unsigned and emerging artists on its jukeboxes through a new category called Breaking Bands.
Thirty exclusive tracks will be programmed per month from artists which Soundnet feels are names to watch in the future. The feature will be particularly relevant to the new Venue Hub jukebox, unveiled by partner Sound Leisure at the EAG Expo in January.
Breaking Bands tracks will appear in their own category, will be promoted using on-screen advertising and customers will also be able to find the tracks using the Venue Hub’s ‘search and suggest’ feature.
Lee Taylor, head of music programming at Soundnet, said: "There is always exciting new music out there but it can be confusing to find the best of the new crop. Breaking Bands allows us to cherry pick the best new music and present it to our customers in an easy and intuitive way."
Venue Hub boxes also have built-in speakers for audio previews, allowing customers to try before they buy unfamiliar tracks.
