Pandemic restrictions are being eased for some Australian amusement attractions as the number of Covid-19 infections fall.

Restrictions are easing in Australia

New South Wales, hard-hit in recent weeks, from today relaxes some of the rules. Those fully vaccinated have more freedom to meet at home and more importantly for the amusement industry, access to gymnasiums and other indoor recreation facilities is eased.

All premises must operate at one person per four sq.m and one per two sq.m outdoors.

Those under 16 who are not fully vaccinated are permitted unaccompanied in outdoor settings, but must be with a fully vaccinated member of their household in hospitality venues and entertainment facilities.

The new rules permit the reopening of indoor recreations with density limits of up to 20 people. It may not be enough for many FECs and attractions to make it worthwhile to reopen yet.

Sydney’s Luna Park, the major harbour-side attraction, for example, is now planning to reopen only at weekends from the end of this month.
