As English pubs, seaside arcades and adult gaming centres all took the opportunity given by the relaxation in the lockdown to reopen on Saturday, some sectors were still frustrated.

A survey by UK Hospitality of 15,000 pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels and visitor attractions showed that less than half – 43 per cent – planned to reopen on July 4. Another 17 per cent said that they would not open until later in the month.
Meanwhile, locations such as soft play centres have been told to remain closed.
