The Slovakia Show, the coin machine event for this small country of 5.4 million people, was held this week over two days, ending yesterday.
The show had 45 exhibitors and was held in the Incheba expo centre in Bratislava. Once again, InterGame was the only international publication present.
The Slovakian industry’s current status of mixing AWP machines and VLTs in street locations was reflected by the show, but with an accent on the transition which will come on January 1, 2009, when the country enters the euro zone. At that time all 15,000 AWPs and 6,000 VLTs will have to be converted overnight.
The main exhibitors were Novomatic, Apex, Synot, Slov-Matic and Kajot and VLTs dominated the show. A full report will appear in the November issue of InterGame.
