Simworx, the UK-based dynamic media attractions specialist, will provide a pirate-themed version of its Immersive Tunnel attraction to the Amikoo Theme Park in Mexico.

Piratas de Bacalar will be based on the history of pirates in Mexico and will provide an adventure in the Caribbean Sea defending the San Felipe Bacalar Fort, along with an exhibition on the events involving piracy in Mexico.
The tunnel’s latest incarnation will utilise a single, 60-seat, three degrees-of-freedom motion base (as opposed to the previous 30-seat versions) themed as a pirate galleon.
The park will include 24 attractions is based on Mayan cosmogony, incorporating over 40 characters, created for the exclusive use of the brand.
It will also offer restaurants, shows, a Mayan anthropology and archaeology museum, exhibition hall and convention centre, as well as Amikoo Resort, featuring over 1,200 rooms.
The first phase of the $840m site will be ready within 2018, with the second slated for 2019-20.
