Two of the UK's leading manufacturers of pool tables have come together to create a formidable presence in the pool table industry.
Simply Pool of Oldham and Excel Leisure Products of Ashton, both in Greater Manchester, have joined forces to combine their talents and expertise to provide their customers with top of the range products and a streamlined service to match.
Directors of both companies see the move as a positive step to secure greater market share particularly in the current difficult trading environment.
Paul Adams, managing director of Simply Pool, commented: "Both our companies target the same customers and in many ways we are a mirror image with the tables and spares that we offer. We look forward to working together to supply our customers with the very best products and with service levels to match."
Excel’s Stan McKenna added: "We have known the directors of Simply Pool for many years. In fact we all worked closely together at a previous company which will make the integration that much smoother. We are delighted to confirm a continuity of first class products to all our customers with the move strengthening both companies."
There will be a period of integration and ultimately a rationalisation of locations with full details to follow soon.
Paul Adams will head up the new combined company, which will trade under the name of Simply Pool Ltd, with Stan McKenna looking after the company’s commercial interests and Bob Underhill heading up sales.
The new company will be in a much stronger position to face the ever more challenging market.
