US-based pool, dart and foosball games manufacturer Shelti is changing its name to Gold Standard Games. This name change has been planned since the company was bought by Mark Robbins in 2010.

"We wanted a name that reflects the future direction and focus of the company as we bring new products to market," said Robbins. A new line of coin-op and home recreation air hockey tables will be the first products to bear the name Gold Standard Games. However, some products will continue to carry the Shelti name, including certain pool tables and electronic dart machines, two categories in which the original name has strong brand recognition.

Robbins said the Shelti website and Facebook page will be updated over the next few months to reflect the name change. Gold Standard and Shelti products will be on display at the upcoming Amusement Expo.
