UK start-up Severn Leisure Rides is the latest exhibitor to confirm its presence at January 14-16’s EAG International Expo in London, UK.

Severn Leisure Rides

The new business has secured exclusive UK distribution rights for Italian manufacturer Sela Group’s product range of coin-operated rides, after having operated them for many years at its amusement park in Worcestershire, UK.

“We’re looking forward to attending EAG as a new distributor for Sela, but we are also well-established operators in our own right,” said sales and engineering director Justin Minor. “My business partner owns a family fun park, which his family has operated for around 70 years. I started working at the park 30 years ago and have worked my way up to park manager.

“Our first experience of Sela products was when we bought a neighbouring park in the early ‘90s. The park already had some Sela bumper boats and F1 cars that had been supplied by Bill Hammett of Leisure Engineering.

“We were so impressed with Sela’s battery-powered vehicles that we now operate over 30 in our park. A few of our vehicles are over 20 years old and they’re still as profitable as their new counterparts. The vehicles also deliver a huge cost saving because they don’t require an operator,” said Minor.

Visitors to EAG stand 328 will see a wide range of children’s battery-powered vehicles in several sizes, including the Hurricane bumper car range, Quad Bike, Tractor, F1 Car, Mini-Quad and, new for this winter, the Drive Yourself Sleigh.
