Following the announcement that a £100m plan for a new Adrenaline World attraction is being submitted for the UK town of Chesterfield, another £45m project has been unveiled for Blackpool.

The Lancashire resorts town’s Stanley Park golf course site is the proposed site for the project that could also see 250 holiday homes to be developed by Holmes Investment Properties, according to local reports.

The plans would mean the golf course would be reduced from 18 holes to nine on the Stanley Park side of the site, but the move has been met with anger from some residents and thousands of people have already signed a petition to save the municipal course.

The project is part of ex-tennis professional entrepreneur, David Lloyd’s new venture, building on his chain of health clubs and tennis centres.

A wide range of activities would be involved at Adrenaline World including zip-lines, ropes courses, go-karting, mini-golf, climbing walls and VR.

The west side of the site would be retained as a nine-hole course with investment in practice facilities and development of the clubhouse.

While Blackpool Council has not yet approved plans, the attraction will open in early 2021 if it gets the go-ahead.
