Experienced German operator Lars Rogge has been announced as the new joint managing director at Bally Wulff, the German AWP manufacturing company, based in Berlin.
Rogge was unveiled today at the FER trade show in Madrid, where Bally Wulff has a big presence as a significant supplier of games to the Spanish industry via its distributor there, Cirsa. Rogge was accompanied by the outgoing joint managing director of Bally Wulff, Tim Wittenbecher, who announced his resignation last month.
Wittenbecher is leaving the company in June to pursue interests outside of the industry. He is one of three joint managing directors at Bally Wulff.
Rogge has more than 20 years’ experience in the German coin machine industry, through his family operating company, Rogge Entertainment, based near Hanover, which has been in business since 1926. He is the third generation of the Rogge family to enter the business and he intends to remain with the operation even after he takes over the role at Bally Wulff after Wittenbecher’s overlap period.
“I know that manufacturing is a different business from operating,” he said, “but those years as an operator have given me a unique insight into what gaming machine operators want and I will seek to apply those philosophies to our manufacturing arm.”
He added: “Tim is a tough act to follow. He has built Bally Wulff into a respected name in Germany and in other countries such as Italy and Spain. I want to continue that work and help to expand Bally Wulff’s influence still further into other countries. We have several European markets currently under investigation in our research and development department.”
