The reopening of locations across Indonesia had a number of challenges for local FEC operator Andy Sunjaya of CV Mitra Gamesindo.

“The first problem was bringing in the staff,” he said, “notably the technicians and ensuring that safety protocols are followed. This was also a testing time to ensure that all the maintenance operations are completed and the machines are performing well.

“Added to that, during these low times, investing in sanitation regimes, masks, Plexiglas barriers and thermometers all added to our costs, not to mention the cost associated with promoting the business having increased.”

Footfall, he said, was initially low, but customers were primarily concerned with safety measures and to reassure players that they did not contract the virus from the staff.

Staying at home, however, brought about boredom among the players and they had the urge to step out to play zones such as Gamesindo. “Our motto was BSBA (Bemain Sehat Bersih Aman or ‘Healthy, Clean and Safe Playing’).”

The facility has been using high-tech disinfectant machines - ozonisers - to adhere to the motto and keep play zones clean.

The location uses Semnox’s Parafait suite of products that helped Gamesindo to maintain direct contact with the customers. “Semnox has a great support team that is available for any help in the operation. While reopening during the pandemic, the support, service and the terms of payments provided by Semnox was highly appreciated,” said the operator.

CV Mitra Gamesindo has more than 30 game centres across Indonesia operating under a variety of brand names including Mr Games, Happy Time and Fun & Play.
