Netherlands-based amusement park Toverland received a record number of visitors in 2018.

The park saw 812,000 visitors last year, which represents an increase of 19 per cent compared to 2017.

The company has attributed its growth largely to expansion that took place last year, namely the new Port Laguna entrance and a new themed area called Avalon (pictured). These additions, worth millions of euros, made the location one-and-a-half times bigger.

“With the realisation of Port Laguna and Avalon we showed that we are capable of grand achievements," said general director Caroline Kortooms. “We are immensely proud that our expansion has resulted in a new visitor record, something we wouldn’t have dared dreaming of in the 17 years of our existence.”
