Following on from the success of its debut appearance at this year’s IAAPA Expo Asia in Shanghai, and the interest the Pierrot Bear puppet (pictured) attracted at IAAPA Expo Europe in Paris, Rainbow Productions are further developing body puppets.

Body puppets are an interactive entertainment experience that enables children to engage with a mascot of their own height and allows the puppeteer to act in unison with them.

“It takes interaction and audience involvement to a completely new level,” said Simon Foulkes, sales and marketing director at Rainbow. “The joy on children’s faces as they suspend their disbelief in the puppeteer is quite something to witness.”

Rainbow Productions specialise in the manufacture of custom-made mascot costumes and traditional puppets and have expanded their expertise to include body puppets. An alternative or addition to full-sized costume characters, body puppets provide another immersive opportunity for clients to entertain guests on a daily basis.

The UK based firm recently manufactured the ZO Robot body puppets for Tekzone, a family entertainment attraction in Kuwait. Steven Putzeys, leisure and entertainment operations manager at Tekzone, commented “The three robots arrived yesterday in the park and they look amazing! The reactions of the staff handling them and the visitors are fantastic!”

Simon Foulkes and export manager James Barlow will be attending the IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando and will be available for meetings on the Department for International Trade booth, 458.
