The bowling giant QubicaAMF has seen a lot of successes with its new Edge String pinspotter and Tech Wizard app.

QubicaAMF on the Edge

The Edge String uses electromechanical design and intelligent software for a pinspotter that allows ease of use for staff “at a very low operating cost,” the company has reported.

Its new Tech Wizard app is designed to proactively notify and guide staff throughout the working day, removing strain from management.

Neil Pennington, director of performance equipment for QubicaAMF, said: “In about an hour, staff will learn to use Edge String and they will receive guidance from Tech Wizard, making the operation even easier.” One of the first Edge String pinspotter installations belongs to Darrin Skinner, owner of Lake Wylie Bowl N’ Bounce near Charlotte, North Carolina, US. He said that while bowling represented just 30 per cent of his revenue, over 50 per cent of his facility maintenance cost was from his old pinspotters.

“I am now saving around US$45,000 per year in spare parts and labour across 16 lanes,” said Skinner. “That equates to US$2,800 per lane per year and our former room full of spare parts has now been reduced to one small shelf.”

Wendy Smith, director of business development for QubicaAMF, said: “New investors installing bowling into their entertainment centre or boutique concept can benefit from Edge String’s easy to use design and authentic experience that their customers will love.”
