This year sees major tenpin bowling company QubicaAMF celebrate its 25th anniversary since the two companies, Qubica from Italy and AMF from the US, amalgamated in 1993.
The company is planning to mark the event in a number of ways, but it is interesting to note that in the first year after the amalgamation the turnover was US$156,000, rising to $1m the following year and then successively increasing over the succeeding years until in 2002 it hit $30m. In the first year it installed 34 lanes; in 2002 that total was up to 26,800 lanes.
