Further details of the Saudi giga-project Qiddiya are set to be revealed this morning at a press conference for the international media.
Qiddiya’s welcome centre, 40km outside of the capital Riyadh, will host an interactive digital presentation followed by a Ted-talk style presentation by the CEO of Qiddiya Investment Company and one-time Disney executive, Michael Reininger. Representatives of BIG, the Danish and US-based architecture and design company, will also be present.
Construction started on the 334sq.km entertainment resort at the beginning of this year. The project is one of the major tourism developments to be established in Saudi Arabia in the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the income resources of the country.
Upon completion, the project is expected to be the largest tourism destination in the world.
