Punch Taverns has made a donation of just over £52,000 to the GREaT Foundation to help fund research, education and treatment of problem gambling.
Geoffrey Godbold OBE, director of the GREaT Foundation, said: "The GREaT Foundation collects charitable donations from all industries that derive income from gambling and provides this to fund, among other things, the treatment of those who suffer from addictive gambling behaviour. We are extremely grateful to Punch Taverns for this most generous contribution."
Peter Cawdron, chairman of Punch Taverns, added: "Punch Taverns recognises that it has a positive role to play, alongside the rest of the industry, to encourage socially responsible gaming within its pubs. This donation will help the GREaT Foundation to encourage people to gamble within their means and fund the additional help that people may need."
