The Coronation weekend may have been a washout for many arcades around the coasts, but brewer Marstons reckons it provided an uptick for its beer sales.

The company said that the Easter weekend and the first May bank holiday showed like-for-like sales well up. “It demonstrates that when the weather conditions are right, people want to go out to the pub,” said the company.
Revenue was up from £369.7m to £407m. it still make a pre-tax loss, however, of £2.9m, but that was better than 2022’s pre tax loss of £6.1m.
