A US rafting company is branching out with plans to create an adventure park that would include a zipline and treetop adventure course in Lake Luzerne, New York.
The owners of Adirondack Tubing have renamed their business Adirondack Adventure Center and have applied to the Lake Luzerne planning board to set up the addition.
As well as the town’s approval, the park would need the go-ahead from Adirondack Park Agency. The agency and town expect to have decisions by the end of April, which would give the business time to do the necessary construction.
Lake Luzerne supervisor Gene Merlino believes the business would be a welcome addition to the town’s summer business base, pending formal town approval.
“I think it will be good for the town,” he said. “It’s clean recreation. They will only operate during the day and there won’t be a lot of noise.”
