A voluntary pre-commitment scheme - the first of its kind - has been rolled out across a network of 28,500 gaming machines across the Australian state of Victoria.

Intralot Gaming Services, a subsidiary of Intralot Australia, has introduced the system, branded YourPlay. The launch this month follows a contract signed in 2014 between the company and the Victorian government to operate the pre-commitment service for a period of 12 years.

This new solution is voluntary for players, but it is mandatory to be offered on all gaming machines operating in Victoria. It gives players the ability to track and limit their betting on any machine in the state.

Minister for Consumer Affairs, Gaming and Liquor Regulation, Jane Garrett. stated: “The Andrews Labour government is leading the way when it comes to the roll-out of YourPlay. This is just one of the tools we are giving people to reduce gambling-related harm in the community.”

Nikos Nikolakopoulos, Intralot Group COO, added: “Intralot has a successful track record in the delivery of demanding and challenging projects across geographies. We are extremely pleased to celebrate today the launch of an unprecedented Voluntary Pre-commitment Scheme.

“We are confident that it is a great asset of the Victorian government and will strongly support it in its endeavours to enhance responsible gaming across the state.”
