The pier in the Essex, UK, town of Clacton-on-Sea is undergoing a multi-million pound upgrade.

As part of the refurbishment, a new two-level adventure golf course, a dodgems attraction and a children’s play area are among the improvements.
The golf course is expected to be complete in July but the entire project won’t see completion until 2019. The pier will remain open while construction is ongoing.
The UK’s piers are a familiar sight in coastal resorts and draw in thousands of visitors every year.
