The recently-installed high definition giant LED screen at the front of Bournemouth Pier in the UK has been a huge success, says the local media.

The 160-year-old pier is now playing host to a range of still and moving images advertising local businesses as well as big international names, including Coca-Cola and Schweppes.

The pier is operated by Adventure Attractions and its marketing manager, James Balcazar, said that the pier is "Bournemouth’s answer to Piccadilly Circus."

The screen is nearly 9m tall and almost 3m wide and is visible from a wide area, including the beach and the nearby cliffs.
