Paul Gauselmann, head of the giant German manufacturing and operating group that bears his name, has withdrawn from his role as chairman of the VDAI, the German trade association, after leading it for 38 years.

He has been replaced by a trio of top management from the three leading German manufacturing companies. They are Daniel Henzgen of Löwen Entertainment, Lars Rogge of Bally Wulff and Manfred Stoffers from the Gauselmann Group.

Gauselmann called upon the membership of the VDAI to “pull together and keep the interests of the machine entrepreneurs in mind.”

He began in the industry in 1957 and formed his own company in 1964, becoming active in the local trade association. Then in 1971 took over as chairman of the DAV organisation in his home state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Gauselmann campaigned vigorously for the industry at local and national level and was then elected chairman of the national association.

He now becomes honorary president of the VDAI.
