A children’s amusement park in Colorado has to close permanently after 38 years in operation, due to the coronavirus restrictions.

As reported in US trade magazine RePlay, the Lollipop Park in Centennial, a children’s amusement park, has been forced to close down, although the owners say that while they can no longer sustain an indoor venue, they plan on bulding an outdoor version.
“Unfortunately Americans continue to avoid volume-based entertainment venues and ultimately parents of small children are nervous about coming back inside buildings to have fun or celebrate birthdays with large crowds,” said the park on its website.
“Lollipop Park has a very small footprint, and as such cannot social distance, let alone operate with 25 per cent or 50 per cent capacity, so unfortunately the indoor Lollipop park is now permanently closed.”
The owners are under contract to build a new outdoor venue in Parker, Colorado, hoping to open later next year.
