UK soft play equipment specialist Play Area Hygiene Services has used its expertise in hygiene and product development to innovate a solution to a currently widespread problem.

PAHS

The coronavirus pandemic has seen frontline health workers across the world lead the fight, with many working long hours looking after those who have been struck down.

A side effect of this essential work is that the face masks they are wearing all day quickly become very uncomfortable, often leaving bruising, but PAHS has developed a simple but clever solution.

“One of our members of staff has been busy during lockdown making headbands for nurses and doctors for our local hospital in Plymouth,” said director Elliot Myatt.

“The face masks they wear must be worn tightly to prevent infection, which makes them very uncomfortable for even a short time. The elastic bands hook over the buttons on the headbands, instead of the ears - genius!”

The headbands come in a variety of different colours and designs, but the comfort that the simple invention is now providing for key health workers is helping to make the difficult conditions they are working in that small bit more bearable.
