Ireland-based bookmaker Paddy Power enjoyed a strong machines performance during the first half of the year across its retail operations.

In the UK, the company’s self-service betting terminals contributed to a five per cent like-for-like growth in sportsbook stakes. Like-for-like sportsbook net revenue decreased by eight per cent driven by adverse sports results.

Machine gaming net revenue grew six per cent on a like-for-like basis, benefitting from “continued strong execution of carded play and regular new game releases.”

In Irish retail, like-for-like stakes grew eight per cent and net revenue by four per cent.

During the six-month period, it opened seven shops in the UK and seven shops in Ireland, of which four were acquired.
